Description
This is a portrait of a RL dog named Nikki.
She was put down earlier in this year, because she was sick.
Back then I decided I wanted to draw her, but because of a lot of things, I never finished it.
A few days ago, I then decided to do her all over again, and here is the finished Nikki.
I hope the owner will like it, and I know I've learned a lot through this process
Please give her a pat on the head, and smile to her.

ART BELONGS TO OWNER
Nikki was a beautiful and beloved bullterrier girl, and I believe she's in a better place now.
Rest in peace Nikki <3
And remember to run a lot now that you're free of pain <3

The story behind this picture is quite saddening, but at the same time it encourages the viewer that the dog that died is in a better place. Aside from the fact that the eyes could be a little bit bigger and the area leading down to the nose could be slightly altered to make it to where the dog doesn't appear to have a bent snout, this is actually a very decent picture. It's very lifelike, with lots of shading and neutral colors, and even a beautiful navy blue background to make it all the more interesting. For me, it's a 3.5 on vision, a 5 on originality, a 4 on technique, and a 4 on impact, giving you a total of 16.5 out of a possible 20. It's not the best picture of a dog in the whole world, but I'm happy to report that, based on what I've seen in this deviation, it's a very original, unique take on whatever breed of dog is portrayed here. Is it a dachshund? I mean, I just can't figure it out on the top of my head for the life of me... But anyway, this is a lovely picture, and kudos to you for paying tribute to a now deceased dog in the best way possible. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
